Kasasagi Studios

Providing expert led workshops and creative experiences in silversmithing and jewellery making from King Square in central Bristol.

With a mission to make silversmithing open and available to as many people as possible, the studio has been under Alice Goldsack's expertise and guidance for over 15 years. Claire and Kasasagi Studios are honoured and excited to start a new era for the workshop from Summer 2025.

We can't wait to see you in the workshop!

You can find Alice through her website.

Meet the tutors

Claire Cashman

Claire is a lifelong creative with over a decade of experience in silversmithing and jewellery making. She began her jewellery journey after attending a ‘ring in a day’ workshop with Alice. Following this Claire was hooked and has spent countless hours at the King’s Square studio over the years.

Claire’s jewellery is inspired by the natural world, the macabre and the unusual. Since 2018, Claire has been designing and creating her jewellery collections and custom pieces as Kasasagi Jewellery.

When outside the workshop Claire can be found attempting to tame her garden, playing board games or more recently wrangling a new-born.

12 Week Course

Twelve two-hour lessons with your class meeting weekly. You can be helped with your own silversmithing projects or follow a structured session plan based on your preference.

Day Course

An extended day in the workshop. Day courses provide six hours of shared workshop time.
From designing to finishing you will be supported and taught the techniques to make your own jewellery.

Jewellery School

These hands on courses teach the practical art of silversmithing and fine jewellery making. Alongside this you will gain pointers on design, wearability and artistic licence. Jewellery school is suitable to anyone 18 and over of all levels of ability and experience.

Students will learn multiple techniques for working in gold, silver, copper, brass and other precious metals and how to choose, fit and make the most of precious and semi-precious stones.

Whilst teaching classic and contemporary techniques, these classes are centred around exploring and supporting each makers individual artistic ideas and seeing them develop into wearable pieces.

Classes are kept to a small number of participants, typically eight people, to ensure a high level of one-to-one support for each attendee.

The Workshop

Access to the studio requires climbing a flight of stairs, unfortunately we are not wheelchair accessible.

Found in the bustling alternative district of Stokes Croft, full of independent shops, galleries, cafes and the street art the area is famous for. The workshop is a 10 minute walk from the central bus station, 15 minutes walk from Cabot Circus and a 30 minute walk from Temple Meads. There is paid street parking in the workshop area.

There is a full complement of well maintained, professional tools and equipment suitable for those starting and advancing their jewellery making journey.

The workshop is purpose built for jewellery making, with ample natural light and space for up to 10 people, although classes are typically capped at 8 for comfort.
